Bar maid accused of emptying Sh215,000 from client’s M-Pesa account after ‘sexcapade’

The incident occurred at the room where Ochieng was having a good time with Mueni and a colleague in turns

A bar waitress is in trouble after she was accused of transferring Sh215, 000 from a client’s M-Pesa account to herself and others after a “sexcapade” at her employer’s premises.

Agnes Mueni Ngina is now facing charges of stealing the money from Fredrick Ochieng alias Obama contrary to section 268 (1) (a) of the Penal Code as read with section 275 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Mueni, 27, is accused of committing the offence on May 17, in Tassia in Embakasi within Nairobi, jointly with others, including a colleague with whom they had jointly entertained Ochieng in bed at a fee of Sh5,000 each.

She denied the charges when she appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Joseph Karanja of Makadara Law Courts and was released on a bond of Sh100,000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh70,000.

The incident occurred at the room where Ochieng was having a good time with Mueni and a colleague in turns.

The two had met a Chairman’s Bar in Tassia where she works and after a few drinks, Ochieng requested Mueni and her colleague for a threesome in one of the rooms and they agreed to charge him Sh5,000 each.

After the steamy encounter, Ochieng is said to have given his mobile phone to Mueni to input her M-Pesa number so that he could pay.

However, she is alleged to have edited the amount to be sent and keyed Sh100,000 instead of Sh10,000 as the amount and Ochieng sent the cash in his drunken stupor.

He also claims that Mueni transferred Sh115,000 to other people, bringing the total amount of money lost to Sh215,000.

Ochieng, a hydrologist, had booked to spend the night at the restaurant’s guest rooms and left only to return after discovering the money was missing from his M-Pesa account.

He reported the matter at Tassia police post and investigations were conducted.

Ochieng told the police during investigations that Mueni had complained to him that he used to go the club with his girlfriend while ignoring her and other women working at the club.

The case will be mentioned on August 28 for a pretrial and setting of hearing dates.
