Nurses have agreed to end their long-drawn-out strike and resume work after signing an agreement with Council of Governors and the Health ministry.
In the pact inked on Thursday, the two levels of government agreed to raise the caregivers’ perks, including uniform and nursing allowance.
On their part, the health workers agreed to resume work on November 3.
The strike that started on June 5 crippled service delivery in public hospitals in many parts of the country, leading to suffering and deaths of many poor Kenyans who could not afford medical care in private hospitals.
