Two new cholera infections have been reported in Embu County, bringing the number of infections in the past one week to 27.
County Director of Medical services Dr. Stephen Kaniaru said the two, from Mbeere North and Embu West Sub Counties got the infections yesterday and are receiving treatment at the Embu Level 5 Hospital.
Speaking during a stakeholders meeting , Kaniaru said most of the patients had confessed of drinking untreated water which has become a major challenge due to the rains that has increased contamination.
The first infections were reported on Fridayand by Tuesday, two people had died and another 26 admitted suffering from cholera.
