Four Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) staff members have died during a routine road inspection in Garissa county in a suspected attack by Alshabaab militants.
The deceased persons are said to have been on a routine assessment of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor project.
According to detectives, the vehicle they were travelling in blew up after it ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
The police further added that three bodies were recovered at the scene, while the fourth is suspected to have been wiped out during the blast.
