In the two games played yesterday of the ongoing Kenya Quadrangular Women T20 event, the host Kenyan women’s cricket team had mixed results as they fell to Western Boarder neighbors Uganda and defeated Swahili neighbors Tanzania.
In the first and second matches for the hosts of the inaugural T20 Cricket tournament, which were played at the Nairobi Gymkhana early yesterday, Kenya lost eight wickets to Uganda, who held them to only 54 runs for the loss of three wickets.
Kenya then rebounded to defeat Tanzania by six wickets with Quinter Abel leading the way with 31 runs.
The Kenya VS Tanzania match was temporarily halted due some light showers in the late afternoon which could not deter the host from securing the win after about an hour long wait.
Uganda continued with impressive results as they cruised past Qatar on Day two of the Series in an entertaining match at the Nairobi Gymkhana today afternoon.
Uganda managed to win comfortably past Qatar notwithstanding with the loss of two wickets.
Uganda secured the win with 8 wickets with 51 balls left.
The player of the match was Irene Alimo who bowled 3 overs, getting three wickets and making a single maiden.
Having won the toss and elected to bat Team Uganda proceeded to sail past team Qatar comfortably even with the loss of two wickets
Qatar managed to score 54 runs all out in 18.2 overs.
Tanzania had swift victory over continent visitors Qatar who required over 176 runs in 20 overs
