African football legends Samuel Eto’o Fils and Didier Drogba will be among a host of dignitaries that will grace the ninth edition of the Africities Summit slated for Kisumu from today.
The visit by Eto’o comes days after a photo of him and his family hit social media headlines.
The former Barcelona star was seen together with his family enjoying a vacation at pristine white sandy beaches in Malindi.
Eto’o will be attending in his capacity as the president of the Cameroon Football Federation.
Drogba on the other hand will be representing Cote d’Ivoire at the Summit.
The summit will be opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta and attended by AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga.
Former President of Seychelles Danny Faure, Former President of Nigeria Olesegun Obasanjo, Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o, Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki among others will also be in attendance.
Six other Heads of State are also expected to attend the Summit.
Africities Ambassador Lupita Nyong’o is scheduled to address the Summit.
