The Co-operative Bank of Kenya has sponsored all the 17 teams comprising of eight female and nine male football teams respectively each representing a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of their choice aimed at seeking solutions on food security, stability and peace for all and seeing that people around the world do not face rising hunger.
Among the 17 teams is the Raiders FC from the University of Nairobi (UoN) that sought to score goals dubbed ‘#ZeroHunger’ at the Inter – Campus Peace Futsal Championship 2024.
The theme of the event recently held at UoN dubbed ‘FootballForTheGoals’ was implemented through a partnership between Co-op Bank and Global Youth Forum.
“The Bank sponsored all the 17 teams comprising 8 female and 9 male teams each representing a Sustainable Development Goal of their choice. The goal of the event was to mobilise the football communities within the campuses to develop and implement actions that will contribute to accelerating the 2030 SDG goals.” The bank said through a social media post.
