Heightened political activity by both Jubilee and the opposition alliance has pushed the police  to conduct an early mapping of hot spots.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said the services is mapping  election violence hot-spots in a bid  to design and provide appropriate policing solutions.

“We are going to hold meeting with other national security  agencies for purposes of creating synergy and developing appropriate contingency plans,”said the IG.

He also  cautioned politicians  against illegal use of firearms in their possession during the campaign period.
Boinnet insisted that being in possession of a fire arm did not guarantee such reckless behavior like what was witnessed in Migori and Dagoreti North.
