Woman convicted of murdering her boyfriend over five years ago

A middle-aged woman has been convicted of the murder of her boyfriend during a domestic brawl in Laikipia County in 2020.
Faith Kanoria Mwebia was found guilty of killing Daniel Mwaniki after the prosecution led by Jackson Motende and Esther Kimani proved to the Nanyuki High Court that she indeed was involved in the murder.
According to the evidence presented in court, it was established that the offence occurred on the night of 5th July 2020 in the Likii area of Laikipia County, where the couple engaged in a violent confrontation following an earlier dispute.
It was during the brawl that Mwebia physically attacked Mwaniki and threatened to kill him. Hours later, he was found lying by the roadside with a fatal stab wound to the abdomen.

After the five-year trial, Justice Anthony Ndung’u on Wednesday ruled that the prosecution had proved the charge of murder beyond a reasonable doubt.
The sentencing has been scheduled for early next month.
Separately, a Kisumu court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for defiling a four-year-old child on January 6 this year at Sega Sega area in Kisumu Central.
The evidence presented by the Director of Public Prosecution revealed that the accused asked the complainant to follow him into his house. Upon arrival, he forced her to remove her undergarments and sexually assault her.
Upon proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused was guilty, the court sentenced him to life in prison.
