Ruto meets Migori leader ahead of his tour
The President will visit to Migori on Sunday and Monday during which he will engage in initiatives that support the developmental aspirations of the county
Leaders from Migori County on Wednesday met with President William Ruto at State House Nairobi to discuss issues to do with development in the region.
The group led by Governor Ochillo Ayacko, Senator Eddy Oketch and National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohammed talked about progress of ongoing projects in the region and how to engage further on areas particularly on infrastructural support.
The leaders appraised him on the status of ongoing development projects in Migori County. The projects that are under implementation include fresh produce markets, affordable housing projects, technical training colleges, and roads. These projects are currently at different stages of completion and once done, will boost the lives of the people of Migori. The meeting also focused on identifying additional areas for collaboration between the national and county governments.
Discussions also explored priority areas for enhanced collaboration between national and county governments, focused on accelerating service delivery, unlocking local economic potential and advancing the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) in Migori.
“I am pleased with the progress of our transformation agenda in Migori County. The construction of fresh produce markets, affordable housing projects, technical training colleges and roads are at different stages of completion. Once completed, these projects will transform the lives of farmers, students and the residents of Migori in general. Met leaders from Migori County, led by Governor Ochillo Ayacko, who appraised me on the status of the projects, and discussed what else we must do together,” Ruto wrote on his verified X account.
The county leadership extended a formal invitation to President Ruto to embark on a working tour to Migori. The President will visit to Migori on Sunday and Monday during which he will engage in initiatives that support the developmental aspirations of the county.
President Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to foster a seamless partnership with the County Government and its leadership, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in driving progress.
In response, Governor Ochilo expressed gratitude on behalf of the leadership and residents of Migori, thanking the President for the fruitful discussions and warmly welcoming him for his forthcoming visit. He urged the people of Migori to prepare enthusiastically to receive the President on the scheduled dates, highlighting the significance of this engagement for the County’s development trajectory.
