Rachel Ruto defends Deputy President on church handouts
Rachel Ruto has defended her husband, Deputy President William Ruto for donating money to churches.
She dismissed leaders who have been condemning the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader, terming the donation as “dirty money”.
Speaking during a women’s group network in Makueni county, Rachel said that the DP will not retaliate and will give whenever he feels the people need his help.
“Please don’t bother yourself because my husband is giving donations. He will give, give, give, give and give until the day he runs out of money.
The Bible teaches that it is the hand that gives that receives. I know the DP, he has the interests of Kenyans at heart.
I know when God accedes to the desire of his heart, he will do more for Kenyans,” she said.
Racheal said that her husband has been a giver since he was a young man, noting that since old habits die hard, the DP critics should not waste their time expecting him to change.
She was drumming up support for the DP to women in Makueni county under Joyful Women’s initiative.
She was hosted by Adelina Mwau, the deputy governor of Makueni.
Other leaders present included politicians James Mbaluka, and Fred Muteti.
Joyful Women is an initiative that seeks to ensure women and women-led businesses access financial services.
