Police in Murang’a probing woman’s murder, body concealed as delivery package

Police in Murang’a are probing a bizarre murder of an unknown middle aged woman whose lifeless body was tightly wrapped ad disguised as a delivery package given to a taxi driver for onward transportation.
Police said the body of the woman, suspected to be aged between 45 and 50 years, was wrapped in blankets and stuffed into paper bags.
The taxi driver who was given the strange parcel by a lone-hooded man told police he was ferrying passengers from Makomboki centre to Kangari township early this week when he was stopped by a man dressed in a black hoodie and jeans.
The man allegedly asked him to deliver a package to Kangari stage, claiming someone was waiting at the bus stop for onward transportation to Nairobi. He paid in cash and even pretended to call the supposed recipient.
However, upon reaching Kangari, no one showed up to collect the package. The driver and a passenger tried to unload it but noticed it was unusually heavy and tightly wrapped.
Suspicious, he drove to Kangari Police Station, where officers unwrapped it.
In a shocking twist, inside, the police found the body of a woman dressed in a red dress but without undergarments, bundled in three blankets, assorted clothes, and two white sacks. A blazer with the logo of Gatanga CCM Secondary School was also recovered.
The body was taken to AIC Githumu Hospital mortuary for identification and postmortem. The driver, his passenger, and the vehicle were detained as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, in Machakos county, police are probing another gruesome murder after human body parts were discovered in Kikumini, Sikia area.
Police said dogs had dragged arms and feet into a homestead, prompting a search. The decomposed remains of a woman were later found in a nearby thicket.
The remains were taken to the mortuary pending identification and postmortem, as detectives seek to establish the motive and culprits behind the killings.
