Parastatal boss accused of turning state agency into political campaign base

Employees at a leading government institution are increasingly growing frustrated over what they describe as the politicisation of the agency by a senior parastatal boss reportedly eyeing a gubernatorial seat in one of the North Rift counties ahead of the next General Election.

According to insiders, the once professional work environment has gradually been transformed into a political mobilisation centre, with claims that official meetings and internal operations are now being influenced by the administrator’s personal political ambitions.

Staff members allege that government resources and personnel are being informally deployed to support activities linked to the boss’s growing political network in his home county.

Some employees claim they have been pressured into running errands and undertaking assignments unrelated to their official duties, sparking discontent within sections of the institution’s management.

The developments have reportedly triggered silent resistance among a number of senior officers who now say they are unwilling to continue executing directives they consider irregular or outside their professional mandate.

Sources within the institution indicate that tensions have been building internally, with some managers warning that the continued misuse of staff for political purposes risks undermining morale, professionalism and service delivery.

A section of the management team is now said to be pushing back against what they term as abuse of office, vowing to reject unlawful instructions that fall outside their job descriptions going forward.
