Jubilee Members of Parliament who support President William Ruto have plotted to kick out officials supporting the Azimio One Kenya coalition.
According to sources, the party officials targeted for ousting include Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice Chairman David Murathe.
Details of the plan emerged days after President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua held meetings with a group of Jubilee lawmakers at State House and Harambee Annex.
The same team met Ruto and the DP at State House last weekend when Azimio leader Raila Odinga declared Kenya Kwanza ‘illegitimate’.
Kioni told a local media station that he was aware of the scheme to ally Jubilee with the ruling alliance by removing officials perceived to be critical of the President.
He said that MPs cannot effect any changes in Jubilee without convening the National Delegates Convention (NDC).
“They are not happy after we exposed the August 9,2022 election rigging. They have realized that I have become an important figure in Azimio affairs,” he said.
He said that Jubilee remains committed to remaining in Azimio and will not be destroyed by individuals swayed by personal interests.
Since the revelation of an IEBC whistleblower on the rigged 2022 election polls, Azimio led by its leader Raila has planned on major rallies countrywide to discredit President Ruto’s government.
During the Kamukunji rally held on Monday last week by the coalition’s leader, Raila vowed resistance against President Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza government.
