Kenyan artiste Nazizi asks for prayers as she continues to mourn son Jazeel

The mother of two shared her deep sadness after she recently visited Tanzania

It is more than a year now since iconic Kenyan rap and reggae artiste Nazizi Hirji aka The First Lady lost her young son Jazeel, and it has been a different and difficult journey for her to cope with the untimely loss.

The three-year-old boy passed on after he fell off a hotel balcony during a family vacation on December 25, 2023, in Tanzania.

The Bless My Room hit singer and founding member of the Kenyan music group Necessary Noize has now pleaded with her fans to keep praying for her as she continues to mourn her late son. The mother of two shared her deep sadness after she recently visited Tanzania.

As she took a boat ride, Nazizi wished Jazeel was still around to enjoy the beautiful moments with her. Taking to her social media pages, she said that her recent visit to Tanzania was an emotional one.

“Things I wish my baby Jaz was around for, he loved boat rides and everywhere I go, everything I do I wish he was here with me. Past 2 weeks back home at the island and so many emotions, last time we came @jazeeladam was with us coming to the island for the first time. My heart breaks every single second. Pray for me. I am not as strong as you guys think I am,” she wrote on her Instagram.

After the unfortunate incident, the artiste issued a brief statement saying: “We lost this young soul in an unfortunate accident at the hotel where the family was staying… The void left by the loss is both immeasurable, and the pain is unbearable,” the statement read in part.

Many people commented on her post, with many of them sending her messages of encouragement.

Maureen Kunga, one-third of Kenyan music trio Elani, commented: “May the Lord comfort you Naz. Praying for you.”

TV personality Kui Kabala wrote: “God is with you every step of the way. All my love and prayers.”

“May God give you grace. Poleee. I cry for you. I send love, hugs and prayers to you,” offered radio and TV personality Melody Sinzore.
