Car dealer Khalif Kairo released on Sh500,000 cash bail in latest fraud case

The magistrate also noted that Kairo is out on cash bails of Ksh 2 million in two other cases

A Nairobi court has freed a car dealer Khalif Kairo on cash bail of Ksh 500,000 in a case in which he is accused of obtained Ksh 3,045,000 fraudulently.

Milimani Chief magistrate Lucas Onyina also adjourned the case to tomorrow during which he will consider whether to consolidate the case with two others Kairo is also facing.
“In this case the accused person is entitled to be released on bond terms for the purpose of availing himself for trials,” the magistrate said.
The magistrate also noted that Kairo is out on cash bails of Ksh 2 million in the other two cases.
Kairu was charged yesterday that on diverse dates between October 5 and 7, 2024, at Westlands Business Park in Nairobi by means of fraudulent tricks, he obtained Ksh 3,045,000 from Dan Odhiambo Odundo by falsely pretending that he was in a position to to import him a motor vehicle make Volkswagen Tiguan 1.4 Line from Japan through his company, Kai and Karo Limited, a fact he knew to be false.
He denied the charge.
