All set for Gor Mahia elections next Sunday
The position of chairperson currently held by city lawyer Ambrose Rachier is the most coveted in the elections

Gor Mahia FC’s new office bearers will be known next Sunday, April 13, in an election to be conducted at the Nyayo National Stadium-Basketball Gymnasium.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Elections Board Gichu Wahome in a statement to newsrooms. This move follows Gor Mahia’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) Notice of March 7,2025. The polls are scheduled to take place between 9am and 4pm with four seats in contention.
The position of chairperson currently held by city lawyer Ambrose Rachier is the most coveted in the elections. Also listed for grabs is the seat of vice-chairperson currently held by lawyer Francis Wasunna, Secretary-General position presently handled by Sam Ochola and Honorary Treasurer seat currently held by Dolphina Odhiambo. The letter has invited bonafide club members wishing to serve in any of the above positions are invited to apply.
“Article 11 of the Gor Mahia Football Club (GMFC) Constitution (2019) outlines the following requirements for candidates: A Candidate has to have been an active member of Gor Mahia FC for the last 3 (Three) years; Be a registered member of the Club; Be nominated by at least 20 branches or 20 registered members who have NOT endorsed or nominated another Candidate in the same position; Complete prescribed nomination form and submit the duly completed form to the Election Board; All Candidates will be expected to adhere/sign to the Club Election Rules, Regulations and the Election Code of Conduct.”
Further the letter says; “A candidate to be above 18 years and of sound mind and produce; a Certificate of good conduct-not more than 6 month sold; Credit Reference Bureau Clearance Certificate; Valid Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Certificate; EACC Clearance Certificate; Kenya National Identity Card or Valid Passport; HELB Clearance Certificate; Passport size photograph-coloured; Proof of payment of Nomination Fee.”
The electoral fee as agreed upon by the Electoral Board is non-refundable for each seat. The Chairperson seat contenders will pay Ksh 500,000, Vice-Chairperson Ksh 450,000, Secretary-General Ksh 400,000 and Honorary Treasurer Ksh 400,000. All nominations also have been directed to be submitted online via the official club email address.
