The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation KBC) board yesterday ratified the appointment of Paul Macharia as the acting Managing Director (MD) replacing Samuel Maina Kang’ethia whose appointment has since been revoked.
The new KBC boss says he will work with the staff and management to improve the services delivered to the audience.
“I am prepared to learn from my colleagues here. With teamwork and cooperation, we are going to work together and improve our productivity so that this corporation can become one of the top media houses in Kenya.” He said
Macharia was unveiled and handed the management instruments by the Chairman of the KBC Board of Directors Eng. Benjamin Maingi.
“The Board has formally ratified the appointment of Mr. Paul Macharia as the Acting Managing Director, effective from the 20th of December 2023. Leveraging his extensive experience, Mr. Macharia is poised to make a significant contribution to the ongoing success of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.” Maingi said.
He assured stakeholders and the public that all actions taken are in the best interest of the organization, “ensuring strict adherence to legal frameworks and the maintenance of the high standards expected of KBC,”
Macharia takes over from Samuel Maina who has served the corporation in an acting capacity since March 2022.
