Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has today hosted a reconciliation meeting with Meru county leaders in an effort to find an amicable solution to the leadership problems bedevelling the county and to firm up codial working relations among them for the benefit of the people in the county.
In attendance were Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza, Deputy governor Mutuma M’Ethingia, Senator Kathuri Murungi and Speaker Ayub Bundi.
According to Gachagua, he had already met the leaders separately and today’s meeting was a culmination of the efforts.
“Meru is important to us. The people in the county voted for us to the man. It is a critical county to President William Ruto and all of us. We owe them gratitude and we must repay by working hard for them,” he stated.
Also present were Assembly leaders Ali Mwenda (Deputy Speaker), Evans Mawira (Majority Leader), Jim Muchui (Majority Whip), Mwenda Ithili (Minority Leader) and DMK Kiogora (Minority Whip).
