The Cricket Kenya Women’s Selection Committee led by Director, Women’s Cricket Pearlyne Omamo, has unveiled a 16-player squad for the Women’s Quadrangular series to be played in Nairobi starting from 13th – 22nd December 2022.
“We look forward to a competitive tournament especially with the new entrants into the competition, Qatar,” observed Omamo.
The committee has settled on the squad to be captained by Queentor Abel which will include Sharon Juma, Mary Wambui, Esther Wangare, Vanessa Adhiambo, Lavenda Alivitsa, Melvin Khagoista, Veronica Abuga, Daisy Njoroge, Monicah Ndhambi, Flavia Atieno, Josephine Abwom, Mercy Ahono, Kelvia Achieno, with reserves Judith Ajiambo and Ann Wanjira.
Defending champions Tanzania have expressed high hopes of defending the tournament as they look forward to a tantalizing tornament.
“We have come prepared and the changes in the team are meant to give young players an opportunity to showcase their talent,” they said.
The Tournament is set to bowl off from 13th – 21st December 2022 at the Nairobi Gymkhana, featuring Qatar, Tanzania and Uganda alongside the hosts Kenya.
