The new Director of Criminal Investigations Amin Mohammed Ibrahim has taken Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance administered by Chief Justice Martha Koome at Supreme Court buildings.
After taking the Oath of Office, the DCI boss assured Kenyans and foreigners living in the country of full-service delivery.
We shall tackle the challenges we face as a country including corruption money laundering terrorism, promising Kenyan people to discharge his services diligently to ensure Kenya is a safe country,” he said.
“I take this opportunity to thank all involved. I want to assure Kenyans we shall respect human rights as we discharge out mandate,” added Amin.
Amin made it to the final stage after a rigorous process of 10 interviewees who were shortlisted for the DCI boss position following a list of over 253 Kenyans who had shown interest in the position.
Chief Justice Martha Koome, who is currently among Judicial Service Commission (JSC) conducting interviews for the judges of the High Court, reminded Amin that the two oaths of office and allegiance respectively should guide him accordingly on his deliverables as it requires him to discharge his duties.
Koome welcomed the DCI boss to the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ).
“I have no doubt that you will execute your mandate diligently in line supported by your over 33 years of experience,” observed Koome.
Acting Inspector General Noor Gabow on behalf of the NPS, thanked and congratulated Amin and promised that his wing will support the Director, DCI to discharge his mandate.
The National Police Service Commission Chairperson Eliud Kinuthia congratulated Amin Mohamed and reminded him of what the public expects from him.
Kinuthia asked the DCI boss to focus on service Delivery to the public and leave the social welfare of his team to the commission.
“I want to thank the President for approving and appointing or recommendation. Serve the people diligently. We will support you,” Kinuthia said.
