Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has alleged that the 2022 General Election was plagued by significant rigging, purportedly conducted through the use of face masks.
Speaking to a local television today Kioni was referring to intelligence reports that demonstrated how senior Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) workers wore facemasks and campaigned for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) inside voting booths.
“When you have a face mask on, your lips cannot be seen and the voice is stifled. They influenced the voters to vote us out. We have secured intelligence reports that senior IEBC staff wore face masks that aided them to campaign for the UDA candidates inside the voting halls,” Kioni alleged.
Kioni further warned the Mt. Kenya region that they had auctioned their political souls to a very ill-informed decision.
“Voting in several sections of Mt Kenya took place at night like witchcraft as opposed to the period stipulated by law between 6 am to 5 pm,” Kioni added.
Kioni claimed that the conspiracy to rig the presidential election began more than five years ago.
“In 2022, vote rigging happened in almost all parts of this country. This was a scheme that had been planned for a very long time. This is something that was planned for four to five years,” Kioni said.
Kioni asserted that no elections had taken place in Mt Kenya, and that “we are in office to assist our losers in launching lawsuits in the other elective seats that have not been contested before the Supreme Court.”
“We are profiling the IEBC officers who presided over the elections. The IEBC employed people from a certain community and related friends and families. The things that our petitions in the governor, senator, woman rep, parliamentary, and MCA seats will expose will shock you,” he said.
Kioni lashed out at religious leaders over partisan politics, saying that certain clergy were ‘more poisonous than politicians for national cohesion’.
