Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has urged the acting Inspector General of police Noor Gabow to note the sensitive task of protecting the people of Kenya as he takes up the role.
Through his Twitter handle, Duale stated that Gabow should be alert as Kenyans and the International Community are closely watching the developments in the police service at this time.
“My Brother and Deputy Inspector General of Police Noor Gabow must be alive to the evil machinations of the failed deep state to interfere with Kenya’s Democratic Process,” he said.
Duale further stated that Gabow should condemn any vile attempts to intimidate or bastardize Independent Institutions, especially the Judiciary.
“Gabow must live up to the Oath of office he took and vow to protect people and their property. The chaos and orchestrated violence witnessed at Bomas National Tallying Centre where IEBC officials and staff were being violently beaten as uniformed police spectated,” he stated.
Gabow was temporarily appointed by Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai to act on his behalf as he goes for a medical check-up.
Mutyambai, however, did not specify the timeline he will be away nor the hospital he was set to visit.
“This is to inform the public that I will be away from office attending to a medical checkup effective today, 26th August 2022,” read the statement.
Through a statement yesterday to newsrooms, Mutyambai stated that Gabow will take over from him with immediate effect.
“In my absence, Noor Gabow, the Deputy Inspector General – Administration Police Service will act as the Inspector General of the National Police Service until my return,” he stated.
