The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a manhunt for a General Service Unit (GSU) officer suspected of killing a man he caught sleeping with his wife.
According to DCI, the cop was involved in a physical conflict with the deceased Henry Cheruiyot, 29, shortly after he arrived home and saw him with his wife on Monday, August 22, 2022.
“The General Service Unit officer had proceeded home on leave in Tinderet, Nandi county, where he is believed to have found the deceased Henry Cheruiyot, 29, reaping where he hadn’t sown, on the night of August 22, 2022, an altercation then ensued, and the paramilitary commando is believed to have descended on the man with an avalanche of heavy blows and kicks before leaving him for dead and taking flight,” DCI stated.
The victim’s health worsened, and he was taken to Nandi County Hospital, where he died from his injuries after physicians failed to save his life.
Detectives discovered the deceased’s blue T-shirt, hood, and blood-stained innerwear concealed in a sack during a search of the officer’s home.
As the quest for the culprit continues, the deceased’s body is being held at the Nandi County Referral Hospital pending an autopsy.
