The National Police Service (NPS) has today urged the public to resume work as tallying goes on.
Through a statement, NPS called on Kenyans to maintain peace and calmness and acknowledged the national exercise was majorly incident-free in many parts of the country.
“Let us go back to work and build the nation (Turudi kazi, tujenge nchi),” they stated.

The official results have not yet been released, however, the winning candidate must receive 50 per cent plus one of the total votes cast. Vote counting and tallying are still ongoing.
NPS commended Kenyans for their cooperation during this electioneering period.
“We commend the public for supporting our efforts in securing a peaceful, free and fair election,” NPS added.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has also urged Kenyans to preserve peace and calm.
“Kenya is a peaceful and successful country. We are various, but Kenya is one. We are destined for greatness as a group, ” IEBC stated.
