Ndaragwa Members of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni conceded defeat even before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced the official results.
Through his social media platforms, Kioni congratulated George Gachagua of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) who maintained a lead in provisional results.
“To the people of Ndaragwa, it has been an honor to serve you as your Member of Parliament. I accept the results with honor and contentment,” he said.
Kioni, who is also the Jubilee Party Secretary General, served as Ndaragwa MP for 10 years.
“Much appreciation to my staff, campaign team, and the entire community of Ndaragwa,” he added.
Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut served the constituency as their lawmaker for the past five years.
He lauded former MP Samuel Chepkonga as he prepares to take office.
“To the people of Ainabkoi, thank you for the opportunity you gave me to serve you as a Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. It’s an honour. I congratulate Hon Chepkonga as he prepares to take office and move Ainabkoi forward,” Chepkut said.
