Jane Wangui Njuguna, wife of James Mwangi, Equity Bank Kenya Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is set to face charges over a multi-million land estate in Muthaiga.
The ownership of the land is a tussle between the Equity CEO and Mount Pleasant Director, Anverali Amershi.
Mwangi claimed to have bought the expensive parcel of land for Sh320 million from the late President Daniel arap Moi.
The Equity Bank chief had earlier gone to court to block the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji and the Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, from arresting or charging him over the disputed high-end estate.
He filed the constitutional suit on July 21 this year.
If the Chief Executive Officer from the top serving bank had been arrested, this would have put to the test Central Bank of Kenya’s (CBK) rules that guide the fitness of directors and senior managers.
