Witchcraft is a traditional practice of alleged supernatural powers to control people or events, practices typically involving sorcery or magic.
Although defined differently in disparate historical and cultural contexts, witchcraft has often been seen, especially in the West, as the work of cronies who meet secretly at night indulge in cannibalism and orgiastic rites with the devil, or satan, and perform black magic.
Lee Njiru, former President Daniel arap Moi’s press secretary has come out to reveal startling information about the practice of witchcraft by the staff in the State House during late president Moi’s era.
He disclosed witnessing employees practising witchcraft in order to protect their jobs and gain favour close to the seat of power.
According to the long-serving pressman, who served under the authoritarian rule of the late President Moi, revealed the most shocking occult revelations.
Njiru hilariously reveals how a senior lady at State House was caught naked with her pants down farting in President Moi’s office in order to protect her job according to what she had been advised by her tribesman.
According to the former State House senior official, the woman was lucky to be discovered doing this act by a fellow tribesman, who agreed to settle the matter with her on their own terms.
“Luckily, the farts were not productive; just a crackling noise, like that of gunfire. The lady’s loose morals were in the public domain. She feared that President Moi might get the information and have her transferred. That is why she got the advice of a witchdoctor. She was lucky that she was caught doing this unpleasant ritual by a fellow tribesman. They settled the matter their own way,” detailed Njiru in his memoir.
Another witchcraft incident involved discovering the tail of a squirrel in the locker of the president’s official photographer.
President Moi had some guests with him and wanted to take some photographs as part of the formality at the State House. However, the photographer on duty hadn’t arrived.
Since Njiru and the presidential press electronics engineer were capable of taking photographs, they forced their way into the photographer’s locker to draw the camera only to be met with a shocking surprise.
“The Presidential Press electronics engineer, Wilberforce Onamu, and I were capable of taking photographs. We broke into the photographer’s drawer to get the camera. We were shocked to see that the camera was tied to the tail of a squirrel. All the same, I used the camera and got beautiful photos. Onamu got scared and refused to touch that camera,” stated the former State House senior official.
The other sorcery chronicle disclosed by Njiru in his memoir is the account of a senior security officer, part of the presidential bodyguards, who was engaging in Zanzibar juju in order to protect his rank at State House.
This is among many incidents that revealed how many staff members at State House went to unimaginable levels to protect their jobs and even get favour that may make them close to the seat of power.
