Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed under the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) recently detonated a Remote Controlled Under Vehicle Improvised Explosive Device (RC UVIED) believed to have been targeted at ATMIS troops and Somalia Security Forces (SSF).
ATMIS forces and SSF in Sector II, who have intensified their fight against Al Shabaab terrorists in Dhobley, Somalia.
Addressing the villagers after the successful removal and safe explosion of the explosive device Captain Annceta Munywoki reaffirmed the KDF’s commitment to collaborate with Somalia Security Forces in protecting and safeguarding locals from such incidents.
Residents of Dhobley town, as well as the local administration, praised the KDF’s efforts in securing them.
They pointed out that the safeguarding of life is an important sign of brotherhood aimed at peaceful and mutual coexistence.
