At least seven passengers have perished and five others injured in a grisly road accident along Bomet-Narok road involving a trailer and Ena Coach matatu.
The survivors are recuperating at Narok County Referral Hospital in critical condition.
According to preliminary police findings, the driver of the trailer traveling from Narok to Bomet lost control of the truck after one of its right front tyres burst before causing a head-on collision with an oncoming matatu. The bodies of the seven victims were taken to Narok Hospital mortuary with the vehicle’s wreckage was hauled to the Narok Police Station.
“He lost control of the trailer and hit the Matatu going the opposite direction. As a result of the accident, the PSV matatu was extremely damaged leading to deaths and injuries,” Narok North sub-county commander Alphonce Shiundu stated. Survivors were taken to Narok Referral Hospital.
