Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has once again received praise from theinternational community for his development agenda.
Global Youth Leadership Forum president Jacobo Pombo Garcia said beinga youthful leader, Sonko’s contribution to the economic, political andsocial development of the country is impressive.
This comes days after the UN Habitat also praised Sonko for hisefforts towards making Nairobi one of the most resilient cities in theworld.
Nairobi was ranked among the top ten most resilient cities in theworld three weeks ago.
In February, Sonko was crowned the Good Deeds Global Ambassador for athree-year period by an Israel-based organization for his generosityin helping the needy.
The flamboyant governor was also selected by the United Nations tolead African Cities in the UN General Assembly in New York the samemonth.
He was the only African leader to address the UN conference.
In a letter dated May 28, the GYLF president described Sonko as an‘excellent leader’ and invited him to the fourth edition of the GYLFset for September 22-28 in the Magdalena Palace of Santander in Spain.
“The relevance of your region, your commitment with the Africandevelopment, as well as your personal and professional prestige, wouldbe undoubtedly attractive for this high level forum where excellentyoung leaders will meet prominent personalities and experts inpolitics, economy, culture and society,” read the invitation letter inpart.
