The doomed Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX which crashed shortly after take-off, killing 157 people on board, was struck by a mystery object or bird, according to a leaked report.
The plane, carrying nine British citizens who died after it crashed last month, is said to have suffered a damaged angle-of-attack sensor after hitting the unknown object.
After striking the foreign object, false data was sent which triggered the plane’s anti-stall system, called MCAS.
Tragically, this caused the plane to descend downwards rapidly before hitting the ground as pilots could not regain control of the aircraft.
Ethiopian investigators are expected to release their full findings into the crash on Thursday, but sources close to the investigation have revealed some of the details to ABC News.
