One of the 50 Kenyan doctors, who were sent to Cuba to study Family Medicine, has died under unclear circumstances, Ministry of Health and her family have confirmed.
Dr. Hamisi Ali Juma died on Sunday 17th.
“Plans are underway to transport the body home,” a joint statement sent to newsrooms by the health ministry and family reads.
The 50 doctors were sent to Cuba in May 2018 and they were expected to undergo a diploma program in family medicine.
In January this year, they accused the Kenyan government of neglect.
They said the government had promised them Sh144, 000 as monthly stipend, but they only receive Sh36, 000.
