There will be no mercy for staff involved in corruption deals, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has warned.
This followed last week’s suspension of two finance bosses over claims of associating with former governor Evans kidero.
Finance CEC Danvas Makori and chief officer Ekaya Alumasi were sent home pending investigations into their conduct.
Sonko said that he will not shield anyone implicated in mismanagement of public funds further warning those who fall victims not cry to him.
“Let me remind all officers present here today that I will not protect anyone who misuses, steals, or mismanages public funds.”
“Don’t come crying to me because you will get no mercy,” Sonko said in a speech read on his behalf by Devolution CEC Vesca Kangogo.
This was during a joint workshop of CECs and members of county assembly Select Committee on Liaison in Mombasa.
