Woman in cannibal-like severing of husband’s genitals released on Sh50,000 bond by Kisii court
A 35 years old wife who severed her husband’s genitals in a bizarre and cannibal-like attack using her teeth and stabbed him to the abdomen has been released on a Sh50,000 bond by a Kisii court.
Grace Oyaro was charged earlier today before a Kisii court with causing grievous harm.
Oyaro reportedly committed the offence on New Year’s eve, leaving her partner, Eliud Onuko aged 38 years writhing in pain from the injuries inflicted.
Onuko has since undergone reconstructive surgery at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
Appearing before the Kisii Senior Principal Magistrate Caroline Ocharo, the suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a bond of Sh50,000 with a similar surety.
“I agree with the bond terms on condition that the accused be escorted by police officers whenever she wants to visit her house,” said Prosecutor Hillary Kaino.
An advocate representing the victim Frank Maswari opposed the bond terms, saying the accused should not be released since the life of his client was at risk.
“I oppose the bond terms, however, anybody is entitled to bond, depending on the nature of this case.” Maswar submitted.,
The case will be mentioned on January 26, 2023.
