Woman accused of defiling 15-year-old boy ordered to deposit Sh300,000 bond
The minor told investigators that Eunice would send her children out and order him to remain with her in the house where she allegedly caused his penis to penetrate her genitals
A 40-year-old woman, who allegedly defiled her children’s friend, a 15-year-old boy, before giving him Sh20 to buy his silence, will have to deposit a bond of Sh300, 000 to secure her freedom during trial for defilement.
Eunice Sammy was charged with defiling the minor, identified in court record by the initials GC, on diverse dates between June 15 and July 2 this year Huruma estate, in Mathare Sub County, Nairobi contrary to section 8 (1) as read with section 8 (3) of the Sexual Offences Act (SOA) of 2006.
Eunice is also facing charges of committing an indecent act with a minor contrary to section 11 (1) of the SOA during the same period.
She is accused of intentionally and unlawfully touching the minor’s genitals and causing him to penetrate her against the law.
The minor’s mother was holding a sexual awareness conversation with her children, educating them on various forms of abuse when she noticed that GC was becoming restless and asked him what had happened.
GC opened up and disclosed that the suspect had done some of the things that his mother was explaining as forms of abuse to him.
The minor explained to his mother and later to the police during investigations that he had been a victim of defilement on four different dates when he visited to play with his friends.
The minor told investigators that Eunice would send her children out and order him to remain with her in the house where she allegedly caused his penis to penetrate her genitals.
The suspect denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Beatrice Kimemia of Makadara law courts.
Eunice sought lenient bail and bond terms through lawyer Alice Maina assuring the court she is not a flight risk and lives within the jurisdiction of the court.
Ms Maina told the court that her client is a married woman and a mother of four children living in Huruma.
Eunice and GC’s mother were neighbours before the minor’s family relocated elsewhere but within the same area and GC kept returning to the plot he lived to play with Eunice’s children who are friends, before the suspect allegedly took advantage of her.
The case will be mentioned on August 26 for a pretrial before hearing starts on November 12.
