Were MCAs bribed Sh100,000 each to authorise transfer of county bank accounts?

An embattled governor who is facing multiple graft probes directly and through proxies he is said to use to siphon county funds could soon be a guest of the state alongside Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) over alleged misuse of public funds.

One of the key issues of interests detectives have narrowed down to is alleged bribery racket that saw almost every MCA pocket Sh100,000 to approve opening of new bank accounts in one of the banks.

Further, the county boss is said to have obtained Sh3.5billion facility from the bank to facilitate project demands by the MCAs to forestall a new impeachment push rekindling debate over blatant wastage of taxpayers money.

Mid this year, President William Ruto publicly confessed having obtained raw intelligence information that a governor bribed Senators a whooping Sh150million to escape ouster move.

Angered by the audacity of the unnamed county boss, the president questioned the source of the funds.

Maybe this time round, a similar script is playing out.
