UDA reviews campaign strategy in Mt. Kenya ahead of polls

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) led by Deputy President William Ruto has revised its political strategy to counter its opponents in Azimio la Umoja led by Raila Odinga.

This comes after Raila’s Azimio made great strides in the vote-rich Mt. Kenya with her running mate Martha Karua pitching camp as they seek to woo voters on their side.

To counter the positive strides by Azimio, UDA has established a series of campaign trails across the Mt Kenya region to reach out to their supporters ahead of the fast-approaching August elections.

According to sources close to Ruto bandwagon, the party is expansively campaigning and recruiting members to join the Kenya Kwanza side.

The Informer has also learnt a strategy to adopt a polling station campaign strategy and those joining the alliance are tasked with protecting the UDA votes come August.

Poll losers and independent candidates will also be approached in an attempt to urge them to drop their bids and support UDA candidates.

Those who agreed to the new strategy have been promised a prime position if they form the next government in August.

The recent unfolding comes days after Ruto recently unveiled the UDA party dream team led by Members of Parliament Alice Wahome, Rigathi Gachagua and Senator Kithure Kindiki.

Ruto assured his supporters in Mt. Kenya his dream team will pitch camp in the region to solicit votes for his Presidential bid.

Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri), MPs Alice Wahome (Kandara) and Kikuyu’s Kimani Ichungwa and Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) are also part of the team.

UDA has been insisting on six-piece voting in the coming election.
