Two foreign nationals, a Ghanaian and his Cameroonian accomplice have today been charged at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly defrauding a Turkish national Sh3million in pretext they were in a position to sell him gold worth Sh207million.
The duo, Nancy Ted Malik Lounou, a Ghanaian national and Abdallah Mckenzy were accused of obtaining a sum of Sh3,654,129 from Celik Mesut, a Turkish national, on various dates between October and December 2022, by falsely pretending they were in a position to sell him 33 kilograms of gold valued at Sh207, 900,000.
The prosecution applied for the court to deny them bail and the ruling will be on Thursday, 26 January 2023.
