Traffic disruption expected on Jogoo and Nyasa roads for three days from Friday
Temporary closure is intended to facilitate the installation of a culvert as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements along the two roads
Traffic along the busy Jogoo and Nyasa roads in Nairobi is expected to be temporarily disrupted later this week for four days between Friday and next Monday.
This has been announced by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) through a public notice earlier today, adding that the traffic disruption along the two roads will begin at 10:00 PM on Friday and continue until 11:00 PM next Monday.
The agency said that the temporary closure is intended to facilitate the installation of a culvert as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements along the two roads.
“Kenya Urban Roads Authority seeks to inform the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road from 10:00 PM on Friday, 18th July 2025, to 11:00 PM on Monday, 21st July 2025. This interruption is necessary to facilitate culvert installation works, “KURA has announced in the notice.
The authority urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road signs while driving on the two roads during the period.
KURA also confirmed that traffic police and marshals will be deployed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Further, KURA apologised for any inconvenience that may be caused by the traffic disruption on Jogoo and Nyasa roads.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to follow all road signs provided. Police officers and traffic marshals will be on site to ensure a smooth flow of traffic,” KURA added.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused as we continue to Transform Urban Mobility,” they stated.
