Hussein Mohamed appointed as State House Spokesperson
Veteran journalist Hussein Mohamed appointed State House Spokesperson replacing Kanze Dena-Mararo.
Through Joseph Kinyua, Head of Public Service, President William Ruto confirmed his appointment
“It is notified that His Excellency William Ruto has on, October 14, made various appointments to the senior ranks of the Executive Office of the President,” read the statement.
He will now be charged with making statements on behalf of Ruto and issuing updates on various government projects as assigned by the head of state.
He will also be in charge of coordinating digital, messaging, research, branding and press at the State House.
Hussein served as Ruto’s communications director and played a key role in Ruto’s presidential election win.
In the appointments, former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary who was dismissed over graft claims Felix Koskei has been appointed as Ruto’s Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service and will be deputised by Josphat Nanok.
Katoo Ole Metito has been appointed as State House Comptroller while David Ndii has been appointed as Chairperson, President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
David Mugonyi, who previously served as Ruto’s communications director at the Office of the Deputy President, was promoted to Head of the Presidential Communication Service (PSC).
Kamau Thugge is the new Senior Advisor and Head of Fiscal Affairs a Budget policy while Mohammed Hassan is the member of President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
Dr. Nancy Laibuni has been appointed as associate member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
