Starlets to hit camp ahead of acid test against Tunisia
A 36 player provisional squad has already been named by Head Coach Beldine Odemba ahead of the crucial fixture with the North African giants

Harambee Starlets are set to hit camp next Monday (February 10th) ahead of a two-legged 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against heavyweights Tunisia.
A 36-player provisional squad has already been named by Head Coach Beldine Odemba ahead of the crucial fixture with the North African giants who are ranked eighth in Africa. The team will begin their campaign with the first leg at home on Friday, February 21st before traveling to Tunis for the return fixture on Tuesday, February 25th.
Kenya’s recent record against North African teams has not been as encouraging save for build ups. It will be an opportunity for the Starlets to prove their worth as they seek to qualify for only their second WAFCON.
The squad that will be trimmed down a week to the matches sees the technical bench incorporate 11 new faces. Amongst the newcomers are KISPED Queens backline duo Lavender Abongo and Benedete Atieno. The pair has been instrumental in the current good run for the Kisumu based team in the Women’s Premier League. Others coming through the national team doors include; Alice Mideri (Vihiga Queens) and Tabitha Amoit (Ulinzi Starlets), who earned their first senior call-up after previously featuring for the U20 squad. She is joined by Mary Nthambi (Kenya Police Bullets), and Janet Mumo (Kibera Soccer Girls).
In midfield, Yvonne Idagiza (Kibera Soccer Girls) has earned her place in the squad. Faith Mboya (Kibera Soccer Girls), a prolific striker and current top scorer in the Women Super League with Sunderland Samba makes her debut for Starlets.She will be joined on attack duty by Catherine Khaemba (Bungoma Queens) and Emily Moranga (Kenya Police Bullets).
Current FKF Women Premier League leading scorers Catherine Khaemba (Bungoma Queens), Rebecca Okwaro (Kenya Police Bullets), and Beverline Adika (Zetech Sparks) have also made the squad.Returnees Leila Apiyo and Martha Amunyolet make a comeback to the national team after a long absence.Also making the cut is Vivian Shiyonzo of Kibera Soccer Girls FC.
Other notable incluysions in the squad include;Mwanalima Adam (Kansas, USA) ,Cynthia Shilwatso (Besiktas), Jentrix Shikangwa (Simba Queens), Enez Mango (Farul Constanta) and Dorcas Shikore (Sirines of Grevena).
