Kenyan musician and content creator Kevin Bahati has once again reignited excitement around his long-anticipated white wedding with his lover Diana Marua.
Yesterday, February 20, 2025, in his fourth episode of gifting Marua, the Barua hitmaker hinted a “big day” for the Bahatis on March 1, 2025. Many people have gone ahead to speculate that the long awaited wedding would be on the offing.
On November 18, 2024 Bahati took to Instagram with a cryptic yet thrilling update about their plans, revealing the official wedding date, 22nd, while leaving fans guessing the month.
During the episode that was largely shot at Nairobi’s Westwood Hotel and aired on Diana’s YouTube channel, Bahati said that their big day would be on February 25, 2025, byt the “ultimate big day” would be on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The live episode had more than 9,000 viewers.
Without giving any clues of what he has planned for the day, Bahati said it would be the biggest day of the Bahatis, which lead to people speculating that at last the wedding would be happening.
Today’s revelation was the fourth installation of Bahati’s gifting spree for Diana, as part of their eighth anniversary of living together. It kicked off on this year’s Valentine’s Day, when Bahati gifted his lover with Sh8 million in cash, as a teaser to the eight gifts she would receive leading to the “big day”.
If at all the wedding happens on March 1, it will be after a series of postponements and shifting timelines surrounding their wedding plans. Bahati and Diana have been together for eight years now. In 2023, Bahati paid Diana’s dowry, solidifying their commitment.
In June 2023, Bahati first announced that he and Diana would tie the knot on December 12, 2023. However, the wedding did not happen as originally planned. Later, the couple shared that the wedding had been rescheduled to October 2024, aligning with their anniversary month.
The revised date sparked excitement among fans, but Bahati disclosed in a September interview that the plans were still in flux, largely due to Diana’s indecision.
The two are parents to five children: three biological kids together, an adopted son, and Bahati’s daughter from his previous relationship with Yvette Obura.
Two days ago, the singer gifted Diana’s father a new Toyota Axio car, estimated to be worth Sh1.9 million.
