‘She looks like Tiffah’: Zari’s sweet reaction to Diamond’s new baby
For a moment, the complicated history of celebrity relationships gave way to something much simpler — a mother smiling at the sight of a newborn baby.
Zari Hassan’s warm reaction to Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu’s newborn daughter has touched fans across East Africa, after the former couple’s daughter, Princess Tiffah, joined a video call with the singer and his growing family.
The intimate moment, shared by Diamond’s Wasafi TV, showed Zuchu resting on a hospital bed in Tanzania after giving birth to her first child with Diamond on August 2.
Then Diamond turned the phone towards the newborn.
As Zari caught her first glimpse of the baby, she immediately smiled and exclaimed: “She looks like Tiffah. Aww…”
It was a brief exchange, but for many fans, it carried a bigger message about family, motherhood and the sometimes unexpected ways relationships evolve.
Zari and Diamond ended their romantic relationship in 2018. Yet they have continued raising their two children, Princess Tiffah, also known as Latifah Dangote, and Prince Nillan, while maintaining a relationship that has gradually moved beyond their past as a couple.
Zari has also developed a cordial relationship with Zuchu, making the video call a glimpse into a modern blended family connected by children rather than romance.
Diamond is now a father to several children. Besides Tiffah and Nillan with Zari, he has sons Dylan Abdul Naseeb with Hamisa Mobetto and Naseeb Junior with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna.
Zari has previously been candid about motherhood and, during the conversation, joked that she has no desire to have more children of her own.
But the spotlight on this occasion was not on old relationships or celebrity drama.
It was on two families separated by geography, brought together by a newborn baby — and a little girl who may now have another sibling to grow up knowing.
Zari’s spontaneous “Aww” became more than a reaction to a baby’s face. It was a small, tender reminder that families can change shape without losing the bonds that matter most.
