Sexy or sexist?
Have you ever been asked to send nudes or sexy selfies? Of course, you have: for better or worse, it’s become “normal” now.
Sending nudes used to be such a taboo thing to do and no one talked about it despite everyone doing it.
Then people realised sexting was cool, which resulted in more nudes being sent, which resulted in women’s nudes being exposed on the internet.
However, Ethics and Moral Enthusiast, Life Coach Ambaisi G. Masai differs stating that any man who asks for nudes doesn’t respect you. A real man will never ask for such, if you truly love your woman then you should treasure her body.
“Any woman who takes and shares her nudes is an embarrassment to herself…learn how to Love yourself and remember you are not a monument,” he stated.
Speaking to The Informer, he said every man who looks at a woman lustfully has committed sexual immorality.
“A man will never trust you or respect you if you do so. Men like dignified women not women who are desperate and careless about themselves,” Ambaisi said.
Before sending a nude, think about the consequences. Even though the person might promise that they’ll never share it with anyone, they may be lying.
There are women who have experienced the trauma after entrusting their sassy photos with their “lovers”.
At a certain point, the person may decide to share it with their friends or post it on social media.
This might not happen right away. In fact, nudes can be shared a long time after they’re sent, for example, after an argument or a break-up.
The other person holds a lot of power, remember they could use the image as blackmail to force you to give in to other demands.
There is no guarantee sending a nude will create a healthy relationship.
The person you’re communicating with might try to tell you that sending nudes is a way of proving that you trust each other.
In fact, healthy relationships allow both partners to express what they want, while recognising the importance of mutual respect and consent.
If the person reacts badly when you don’t send a nude, your relationship may not be a healthy one. It could be a sign that the relationship is not meant to be.
If a sexual image of you is shared, you can take action to have it removed however, it can be difficult to ensure all traces of the image are completely gone, which could affect your online reputation as you grow up.
Also, this experience can have serious effects on your mental health and well-being.
If this happens to you, never be afraid to ask for help from a parent, career or another trusted adult.
