President Ruto promise to lift ban barring Miguna’s return to Kenya today

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has confirmed that President William Samoei Ruto will lift his red alerts today after his inauguration.

Through his social media, Miguna happily announced that Ruto assured his return to the country from his current residence in Canada.

“I’m happy to announce that President William Ruto has assured me that the Red Alerts will be Lifted on Wednesday, September 14, 2022,” he wrote.

He said that he would have his passport renewed and thereafter set a date for his return to Kenya.

“Thereafter, I will have my Kenyan Passport renewed and I’ll announce the date of my Return To My Motherland. Bravo!” he added.

His sentiments comes after Ruto promised to have him back in the country right after he was sworn-in as the Head of State.

Miguna was exiled back in March 26, 2018 right after he participated in the swearing in of the Orange Democratic party leader, Raila Odinga as the people’s president at Uhuru Park following the disputed 2017 general elections.

His previous efforts to return to the country were futile as the Kenyan government authorized a ban on his entry into the country for reasons that he holds both Kenyan and Canadian passports.

Kenya’s 2010 laws allow dual citizenship but experts argued that because he did not disclose his Canadian citizenship when he applied for Kenyan documents in 2009 he was sure to be denied it.
