A senior Nakumatt manager who is said to have shot and killed his junior colleague at the supermarket’s headquarters was today arraigned in court.
However Transport manager Steve Abdul Kairo who appeared before Justice Justice Jessie Lessit did not plead to the murder charges against him after the judge ordered him to be remanded in custody for a week so as police to escorted him to Mathare mental hospital for a mental assessment before taking plea on July 18.
Kairo is alleged to have fatally shot Stephen Wafula Musumbi, 23, twice in the chest after he allegedly attacked him with a panga on November 10,2015 at the supermarket headquarters Industrial area, Nairobi county.
The accused is a licensed gun holder and his pistol was immediately confiscated to be used as exhibit in the case after allegedly committing the offence.
According to the police the deceased who appeared to be mentally disturbed started chasing his colleagues while armed with a panga and a spade before he was shot dead by his boss.
