More than 100 nursing students from Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) took to the streets of Eldoret Friday afternoon to demonstrate against failure of the institution to give them license of practice.
According to the students, they were denied the license because the institution said they failed to reach admission requirements.
It took the intervention of the police to disperse the rioting students to avoid stoning passing motorists.
The principle Edwin Tarno, however, said it was not the fault of the institution not to issue them with licenses, but it was the directive of the ministry of education.
