Raila’s sister Beryl Achieng Odinga is dead
The late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s younger sister, Beryl Achieng Odinga, has passed away exactly one month and ten days after he died on October 15, 2025.
The announcement was made by Raila’s other sister, Ruth Odinga, who disclosed that Beryl died today, November 25. She, however, did not disclose the cause of death.
Beryl is the daughter of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga.
She was a sister to Senator Oburu Oginga, the late Raila Odinga, and Akinyi Wenwa, and sister-in-law to Dr. Anne Oburu, Dr. Canon Ida Odinga, Tabu Osewe, and Judy Oburu.
Oburu is currently in Dubai in the United Arabs Emirates (UAE) where he is said to be on a ‘sabbatical leave’.
In a heartfelt condolence notice, the Kisumu County Woman Representative reminisced about the shared moments and Beryl’s profound impact on her life.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Beryl Achieng Odinga. Daughter of the Late Jaramogi Odinga and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga. Mother to Ami Auma, Chizi and Taurus,” Ruth announced.
“While we are deeply saddened by her demise and the immense void left in our lives, we take solace in the belief that she is safe in the Lord’s arms and are thankful for the invaluable gift of the time we were privileged to share,” she added.
The family described Beryl’s passing as leaving an “immense void” and emphasized their gratitude for her life and the positive influence she had on those around her.
