Grapevine has it that a first time Principal Secretary in one of the key ministerial dockets riddled with rampant graft cases has become talk of town for spamming WhatsApp inboxes of colleagues and social friends with what is always deemed as irrelevant official activities.
Colleagues in government and other social circles mainly from the private sector are openly complaining that the PS has become an irritant forcing them to mute WhatsApp groups she has added to them while others have exited in protest.
The PS, described as a greenhorn in her duties is also said to be always aloof of the happenings in the State Department making it difficult for the troubled senior official to clearly articulate government policies in the critical docket. Junior staffers are complaining that the shoes are too big for the embattled PS to fit it.
The Cabinet Secretary has since learnt the weaknesses and prefers dealing with a colleague PS in the same ministry but heading a separate State Department who is said to be too polished and better understands the cross-cutting ministerial mandates.
The unsettled PS who now fears being overshadowed and sidelined has gone overdrive sharing photos and video footages of events where they jointly appear with the CS to win back the trust.
Only time will tell if the PS will hone the requisite skill-set to adequately perform the duties.
